Studies have shown that excessive sun exposure can lead to white spots and premature aging of the skin. Skin cancer is also related to excessive sun exposure.
Sun safety is never out of season. Pay attention to sun protection in both summer and winter, especially in summer. Summer’s arrival means it’s time for picnics, trips to the pool and beach — and a spike in sunburns. Excessive exposure to sunlight can damage the elastic fiber tissue of the skin, causing it to lose elasticity over time and making it difficult to recover.
Excessive exposure to sunlight also cause skin freckles, rough texture, white spots, a yellowing of the skin, and discolored patches.
The sun invisible ultraviolet (UV) radiation damages our skin. There are UVA and UVB two kinds radiation. UVA is long wavelengths and UVB is shoter wavelengths. UVB radiation can cause sunburn. But the longer wavelength UVA is dangerous too, as it can penetrate the skin and damage tissue at deeper levels.
In order to reduce the damage of sunlight to the skin and delay aging, we should pay attention to sun protection.
First: reduce time in the sun. Try to avoid the sun between 10am and 4pm for during these period the sun’s burning rays are strongest.
Second: Apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and wear sun protection glasses.
Third: Dress with Care. Wear clothes that protect your body. Cover as much of your body as possible if you plan to be outside.
In short, try to minimize the time spent in the sun, and even if you have to go out, take comprehensive sun protection measures.
