Your skin reflects your health. To take care of it, you need to build healthy habits. There are some skin care basics.
Stay clean. Wash your face twice a day — once in the morning and once at night before you go to bed. After you cleanse your skin, follow with a toner and moisturizer. Toners help to remove fine traces of oil, dirt, and makeup you may have missed when cleansing. Look for a moisturizer geared toward your skin type — dry, normal, or oily. Yes, even oily skin can benefit from a moisturizer.
Block the sun. Over time, exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun causes many changes in your skin:
- Age spots
- Benign (noncancerous) growths like seborrheic keratosis
- Color changes
- Freckles
- Precancerous or cancerous growths like basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma
- Wrinkles
Reasonable diet: Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, which can make the skin more moisturized and smooth. Drink more milk because it contains a high protein content and has a good nourishing effect on the skin. At the same time, it is important to control the intake of high oil, high sugar, and spicy foods, as these foods can stimulate excessive skin secretion and alter the composition of sebum.
Life adjustment: The main thing is to have regular work and rest, ensure sufficient sleep, avoid staying up late, and maintain a happy mood. When sleeping at night, the skin can self repair. Staying up late and feeling mentally tense can easily lead to endocrine disorders, dull skin, and easy acne.
Following these basic principles can help you maintain healthy skin. However, please note that different people may have different skin types and issues, so different care methods may be required. If you encounter persistent skin problems or troubles, it is recommended to consult a dermatologist or professional beautician for advice.
